Our focus is on the weaker signals in these environments in-lieu of the traditional strong signal indicator paradigm. Current methods lack the predictive power to understand current prevailing sentiment as well as undefined future sentiments. We show how semantic technologies can be applied to understanding weak signal indicators present in social media. This will enhance the predictive power of traditional sentiment classification techniques. The paper also includes using novel noise reduction techniques to support knowledge discovery and extraction, and to focus in on the sentiments within a region that are embedded within noisy social media feeds. \n? Weak signal identification in noisy environments.\n? Application of sociocultural modeling to understanding sentiment within an environment.\n? Contextual sentiment analysis through knowledge extraction of social media.\n? Prediction of future sentiment based on current weak signal sociocultural identifiers.
